Necessity is the mother of invention — how about you? Did something in your life cause you to dream up a solution that you are trying to turn into a new product or business? Are you finding it difficult to secure the initial start-up funds? If so, you may want to look into the Huggies® MomInspired™ Grant Program. Through this program, women may submit original, creative and viable new business and product ideas designed to make life easier for parents. The deadline is June 11th, you can visit www.HuggiesMomInspired.com to apply.
You may have the business or product already or just an idea. They are looking for products/services that help parents during the period from pre-natal care up to 6 years of age. To qualify, the applicant must be a woman 21 years of age or older. The product or business does not have to fall in-line with offerings currently produced by Kimberly-Clark, Huggies parent company. Please visit their web site for more information. They also have a lot of helpful small business information on their site about creating a business plan, marketing, etc. so even if you ultimately decide not to apply, there may be useful information for you.
I am not an inventive mother myself, but my theme for Junior League this year is “Aspire to Inspire” so I hope this post will inspire someone to reach out and apply for the grants. Apparently they range from $1,000 – $15,000 and I’m sure that can do a whole lot of good for someone! I must disclose, however that by posting information about this, I am entered into a contest to win a $250 American Express gift card from an organization called MomSelect. I did not receive any compensation for this post and thoughts and opinions expressed are my own (as they always are!!)
Now go out there and invent something really cool!
