My mother always taught me, if you’re going to make a fool of yourself, you might as well make a BIG fool of yourself! If you are looking for something out of the ordinary to do with the kids on Friday, why not dress them up as cows and take them to Chik-Fil-A?
JavaMom say what?
No, seriously, the July heat hasn’t gone to my head (yet). It’s their annual Cow Appreciation Day. Dress as a cow — if you don’t happen to have a cow costume hanging in your closet (I actually know someone who does…) you can make one by applying black contact paper or construction paper spots to white clothing and then downloading the handy-dandy cow kitfrom Chik-Fil-A’s web site to complete your look. If you are fully dressed as a cow (head to toe) you will get a free meal. If you are partially dressed as a cow, you get free entree.
Tired of bringing home toys from fast food restaurants? You can trade the toy from the kids’ meals in for an ice cream cone at Chik-Fil-A — a little tip I never knew until we lunched there with another family.
Want to make it a little more educational? Spend some time online looking up fun facts about cows, a quick online search turned up many (warning, a lot of them make LOUD mooing sounds), but you should choose which ones are best for the age range for your kiddos. Some sites are more fact-oriented while others are more game-oriented.
So get mooo-ving on making your costumes, and have a fun, silly Friday with your kids. After all, what’s summer for?
Disclosure: I have no relationship with Chik-Fil-A.
