Oh what fun it is to see a summer movie! Especially when it is free! Particularly wonderful when it is too hot or too rainy to play outside (or if Mom is just too frazzled!) If you have little ones, this is my favorite tip: Bring along your own booster seat AND tray. With JavaGirl, as long as I kept her strapped in and gave her her favorite finger food snacks throughout the movie, she was quiet as could be and actually enjoyed the show!

- Saturday, August 7 Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs Based on the children’s book, this animated adventure follows a scientist who tries to solve world hunger only to see things go awry as food falls from the sky in abundance. This is the most delicious event since macaroni met cheese.
- Saturday, August 14 Fantastic Mr. Fox The mean old farmers – fat Boggis, squat Bunce and skinny Bean have joined forces and have Mr. Fox and his family surrounded. What they don’t know is that they are not just dealing with any old fox – it’s Fantastic Mr. Fox and he has a fantastic master plan to save the day!
- Saturday, August 21 Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian When the Museum of Natural History is closed for upgrades and renovations, the museum pieces are moved into federal storage at the famous Washington Museums. Security guard Larry Daley infiltrates the Smithsonian Institute in order to rescue Jedediah and Octavius, who have been shipped to the museum by mistake.
